Suggested workflow: record birth date or in-game day, parent IDs, initial observations and the date the horse becomes an adult. Leave growth duration unknown until observed.
Walks with the mare
The developer describes walking in the arena and forest, including mares with nursing foals. This is a documented activity; the site does not assign an unverified numerical growth bonus.
When a foal grows up
Add a new dated stat observation instead of overwriting the birth record. This lets you distinguish starting characteristics from later training.
Keep the starter bloodline identifiable
The published Direct Descendant objective asks for a 100/100 foal descended from the starter horse. A genealogy note is useful before selling or retiring descendants. This objective does not reveal the inheritance formula or guarantee a particular pairing will reach 100/100.
